The
ITPA (Irish Tractor Pulling Association) made history once again
this weekend by representing Ireland for the first time ever in
the European Tractor Pulling Championships.

TM 150 both from Tullamore Co Offaly, and members of the ITPA (Irish
Tractor Pulling Association) were in Bakel, Holland this weekend
representing Ireland. Twelve Countries were represented at what
was a spectacular event hosted by the NTTO (Netherlands Truck &
Tractor Pulling Organisation) and the hospitably for the Irish received
from the Dutch was second to none.
The
Irish team Jonathan and Michael both achieved pull of over 82 meters
of the 100 meter track. The class was won by J. van der Streek from
Holland in A Massey Ferguson 1155, which was the only tractor to
achieve a full pull by pulling the sled the whole length of 100
meters.

It
was a very educational challenge for the Irish Team, which have
gained invaluable knowledge on how to prepare and balance the tractors
for the next event, we're here to learn and to fly the Irish flag
said Jonathan and Michael which are very pleased with their own
performance, they both added that the biggest fear was not making
it pass the 50 meters so we're both very happy to got pulls in excess
of 82 meters and confident that with a few slight changes in tactics
Ireland could very well be on the podium receiving a European title
next year.
The
ITPA would like to thank our sponsors for making our European trip
possible, they are as follows:

Paul Duffey from Case Ireland

W.R Shaw Ltd. (New Holland Dealer)

Paul Tyrell from P&O Ferries

Michael
Hayden & Jonathan Healion
